Theatres and non-profits

Ticketing that understands a season, a donor and a licence

Community theatres, school programs and arts non-profits sit between tools made for open-market events and enterprise systems that need a consultant. This is built for the middle: seat maps, passes, receipts and a rights step for scripted shows.

In pilot testingBuilt and tested, not yet used by a real theatre. We are looking for first venues to pilot with.

Donations and receipts

Receipts that separate the gift from the seat

When a patron pays more than the ticket is worth, only the extra is a gift. Each ticket type can carry a fair market value. The receipt shows what was paid, the value of the goods, and the part that is left over, and adds a disclosure statement when the payment is over the threshold that requires one.

Ask at checkout

An optional donation at checkout, kept as its own line so the receipt can account for it separately from the tickets.

Fair market value per ticket type

Set the value of the seat per ticket type. Leave it blank and the whole ticket price is treated as the value received.

Exports for your books

Reports and a Stripe payout reconciliation so the donation lines match what reached your bank account.

Receipt wording is designed to help you issue correct acknowledgements. Have your accountant or advisor confirm the language and the threshold for your organization before you rely on it.

Accessible seating

Wheelchair and companion seats that stay where they belong

Accessible seats are held back by rule and are never reassigned silently. You choose when they are released: when every ordinary seat in the same section is sold, a set number of days before the show, or by hand with a written reason. Every release is logged. The attendee list has an accessible-seat column so front of house knows who to expect.

This is designed to help you meet your obligations for accessible seating. The rules that apply to your venue are yours to confirm.

Season and flex passes

Subscribers first, then everyone else

Season passes hold a seat at every included show, with a renewal window and seat-selection priority. Flex passes give a number of tickets to use across included shows. Your box office staff sell and comp passes today.

Online pass purchase is planned

Patrons cannot yet buy a pass through the website with Stripe. If that is a blocker for your season, say so when you contact us.

Streaming a scripted show

Permission to stream a licensed play is not ours to give

Most plays and musicals are licensed for live performance only. Streaming is a separate permission from the licensor. Some licensors do not grant it for most titles, some decide title by title, and some only allow it through their own approved platform. Ask before you sell a single streaming ticket.

What we do

  • Ask for the licensor, licence reference, dates, viewer cap, countries and replay terms for every stream
  • Keep the licence document in a private upload
  • Block scheduling and going live until the record is complete
  • Enforce the dates, viewer cap and replay terms while people watch
  • Let our review team flag or reject a record

What we do not do

  • We do not grant or sell streaming rights
  • We cannot verify with a licensor on your behalf
  • A complete record is not a legal opinion
  • If your licensor requires its own platform, Venue Vision cannot be used for that title

Original works, public domain scripts and shows where you hold the rights are the simplest. See how the rights record works.

And the rest

The everyday things a theatre needs

Waitlists for sell-outs

Ordered notices with a time-boxed claim link when seats come back.

Box office and will-call

Shifts, cash, comps, voids and a will-call list for volunteers at the window.

A stream for the house-bound

Ticket-gated viewing with chat, captions you upload and a replay if your licence allows.

A crew if you have no tech team

Cameras and an operator, scoped per show. Production service.
