Venue Vision, or a ticketing page plus a video link

Many shows are run with a general-purpose ticketing page and a separate stream, such as an unlisted video link or a meeting room. It works, it is cheap to start, and for some shows it is the right call. Here is where the two differ.

Side by side

Two ways to sell tickets to a show and stream it. Based on our reading of public vendor pages and reviews in October 2026; vendors change terms, so check theirs.
QuestionTicketing page + separate stream linkVenue Vision
Who can open the stream? An unlisted link works for anyone who is sent it. Ticket and stream are in different systems, so the link is not tied to a ticket. The viewer page opens with a valid ticket or your private link. Each ticket is limited to two devices by default.
If you refund a ticketThe buyer usually keeps the link unless you change it by hand. The ticket stops working at the player's next check, within minutes.
Reserved seatingGeneric event platforms often support it only in a limited way. Some free tools have no seat map at all.Seat map editor with price tiers, accessible-seat holds and edits that cannot move a seat someone already holds.
Box office and door salesDepends on the tool. Often a separate app or a point-of-sale workaround.Shifts, cash, comps, voids and will-call in the same system as online sales.
Rights and licencesNothing prompts you. Platforms that carry the stream may also mute or block music they detect automatically.A rights record is required before a stream can go live, and its dates, cap and replay terms are enforced. You still need the licences; we do not provide them.
PayoutsSome general platforms keep a share of sales in reserve until after the event. Others pay out within days. Read each one's terms. Our principle is a payout policy shown upfront. The numbers are not final yet; see pricing.
Support on show weekendsVaries. Slow or hard-to-reach support is a frequent complaint in reviews of ticketing tools.Human support on show weekends is a principle we are building to. We have not yet run a live customer show.
Chat and replayVideo sites offer both, with their own rules and branding.Chat for ticket holders with moderation tools; replay is off by default and needs your licence to allow it.
How proven is it?Widely used for years, with large audiences who already know the tools. In pilot testing. Built and tested, but no customer has run a live show on it yet.

When doing it yourself is the better choice

A free or very small show

If nobody is paying for the stream and you do not mind who watches, an unlisted video link and a simple ticketing page are fine, and your audience already knows how to use them.

You need a huge, open audience

Large public video platforms handle audiences of any size and discovery that we do not offer.

Interactive meetings

If people need to talk back and forth, a meeting or webinar tool is built for that. Our stream is a broadcast with a delay of several seconds.

You need a track record today

We are in pilot testing. If you cannot be a pilot venue this season, a tool with years of production use is the safer pick for now.
